MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 28, 2015
METRO
STATE
STUDENTS
SUBDIVISION -
699 LABORE
ROAD —
HANSON
Mayor Keis welcomed Metropolitan State University students who were
present this evening to observe a Council meeting for an Organizational
Behavior class.
Mayor Keis opened the public hearing to consider the application for a
Subdivision creating four parcels to be combined with adjacent properties
along Ontario Road as requested by Ray and Kathy Hanson, 699 LaBore
Road.
The City Planner reviewed his October 2, 2015 report. He noted that Ray
and Kathy Hanson own a long, narrow piece of property along LaBore
Road. They are requesting the division of four small chunks of land from
the back portion of their lot. This land will be sold to the adjacent
property owners along Ontario Road and will be combined with those
parcels to create larger lots. The Planner indicated that the subdivision
and the lot combinations will occur concurrently. The Planner noted that
all four property owner on Ontario Road have agreed to purchase this
property from the Hanson's and combine it with their respective lots. The
Planner reported that planning staff and the Planning Commission have
recommended approval of the Subdivision subject to the recommendations
in the City Planner's and the City Engineer's reports.
McGraw asked if this subdivision will have any impact on the Whispering
Pines plat. Kathy Hanson reported that it will not. Hanson noted that
currently the properties on Ontario Road have backyards approximately 30
feet deep. The addition of the property will increase their backyard size to
approximately 90 feet.
There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on
this matter.
Upon motion by Montour, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was
closed.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2015-10-205 —APPROVING THE SUBDIVISION
OF 699 LABORE ROAD CREATING FOUR PARCELS TO BE
COMBINED WITH THE ADJACENT PROPERTIES ALONG
ONTARIO ROAD AS REQUESTED BYRAY AND KATHY HANSON
SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS
OF THE CITY PLANNER AND THE CITY ENGINEER
2
