MINUTES OT TILE REGUI~AI2 MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTL;G CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />NOV~EM,B,EI2 I6, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 16th day of <br />November, 2004 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Johu Keis called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Gary I2heaume <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. 'T'om \~ojcik <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRrST~NT: <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />1vls. Kathy Weihe <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Joel Hanson, City Admin. <br />Ms. I{athy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk <br />MINUTES The October I4, 2004 Planning Commission minutes were approved as <br />submitted. <br />ARCHIT,EC- Dave Rustad appeared before the Commission and presented a site plan <br />TURAL and architectural drawings for the ofrce condominium building he is <br />REVIEW - proposing to construct at 306 Little Canada Road. <br />20G LITTLE <br />CANADA RD. - Keis noted that the Architectural Guidelines do not recommend the use of <br />DAVE RUSTAD lap siding as proposed on this building and as noted by the City Planner in <br />his report. The Guidelines recommend the use of brick, stone, or similar <br />materials for the exterior building siding. <br />Rustad indicated that he was proposing a heavy grade vinyl lap siding, but <br />suggested hardy board as an alternative. <br />The Planner indicated that the Architectural Guidelines talk about some <br />masonry, preferably brick, stone, or stucco. ,However, the City Council <br />can vary fi~om those recommendations. The Planner also noted his <br />recommendation for a larger entry structure to emphasize door locations. <br />He noted that the entries proposed fade into the backdrop of the building <br />
