MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 12, 2015

- 3 -
on Parcel A. He noted that if there was a specific concern for Parcel B,
they could discuss the preferred layout for the new house and driveway.
Jones stated that their plan is to take down as few trees as possible, but
will need to cut some limbs to make room for construction. They could
try to stay away from the tree line behind the existing house, but may need to move the new house up a few feet in order to do that.

Ms. Johnson asked when they would start working. Jones replied that
their demo permits are ready to go, they plan to close on the property next
week, and then will demolish the house as soon as possible and start construction.

Duray asked the City Planner about the process for building new
driveways. The City Planner stated there is a process with the Building
Official for a driveway permit, and a permit from the county is also required since Edgerton is a county road. Driveways must have at least a
5 foot setback, so both driveways will need to comply with the code.

Schwalbach recommended approval of the Property Division from one
single family property into two lots, subject to the conditions recommended of the City Planner as outlined in his November 12, 2015
report.

Motion seconded by Buesing.
Motion carried 6 – 0.

The City Clerk stated that the terms for Commissioners Murphy and
Schwalbach are expiring at the end of 2015. She noted that if these Commissioners would like to reapply for another term they should send
her an email by December 2, 2015. City Clerk stated that an article
advertising for new Commissioners was published in the newspaper.

The City Planner noted that he had met with the City Administrator and
the process for updating the next Comprehensive Plan may change. The
next Comp Plan is due in 2018 but it is time to start thinking about starting
work on it in the next year. The City Planner stated that since the 2008
Comp Plan Update process was not very smooth, the city may change it for the future. This is something that the City Council will be discussing.

EXPIRING
TERMS
OTHER BUSINESS
