Fahey noted <br />that City staff is also recommending against the three-way stop. <br />The City Administrator reported that :Deputy Butner is now malting <br />County Road B-2 one of his principle focuses fa' traff c enforcement. The <br />Administrator reviewed the traffic assessment report prepared by Deputy <br />Entner noting that the results of the Deputy's speed study show that there <br />is a speeding issue on County Road B-2. It is Deputy Entner's position, <br />however, that increased enforcement will address the problem. In addition <br />to enforcement, the County will locate one of their speed boards to this <br />area. <br />Mugs Nardini, County Road B-2, indicated that the residents on B-3 have <br />tried to get help with this problem for the past 20 years. She indicated that <br />the Sheriff's Department patrols the area for a few days and are then gone. <br />She also encouraged that a afCc enforce~roent monitor the area during early <br />morning and later afternoon commuting times. <br />The Administrator reported that .Deputy Butner has proven to be one of the <br />best traffic enforcement officers that the County has had, and <br />recommended that die first step be for increased enforcement along this <br />street. Fahey noted that if the enforcement does not resolve the problem, <br />the issue will be brought back to the Council for further consideration. <br />ACCI/SSORY The City Planner reviewed a proposed ordinance amendment which would <br />BUILDINGS create a standard relative to the construction of oversized <br />garages/accessory buildings in relation to backyard area. This standard <br />- c'~ <br />p~ ovides that garages/accessory buildings over 1,000 square feet are <br />limited to a maximum of 10% of backyard space. The Planner noted that <br />the City's 1,500 square foot maximum would remain in place. <br />Blesener noted that the ordinance amendment would preclude a 120 <br />square foot sta~age shed for those properties that have received CUP <br />approval of garage/accessory building space over 1,000 square feet in size. <br />Blesener questioned the City's ability to enforce that prohibition. <br />Fahey stated that he was not offended by the small storage sheds and say <br />uo reason to prohibit them. Blesener agreed. <br />The City Planner noted that the two issues are separate. The City could <br />proceed with implementing specific standards for regulating oversized <br />garages/accessory buildings iu relation to backyard size, while continuing <br />to allow one small storage shed per property. The Planner noted that a <br />proposal to amend the Zoning Code would have to be considered at a <br />14 <br />
