MINUTES OF THE WORKSI:IOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 14, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 14th day of <br />January, 2004 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />.Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Matt Anderson <br />Council Member Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Parks & Rec. Dir. Mr. Jim Morelan <br />Public Works Dir. Mr. Greg Schroeder <br />Accounting Supvr. Ms. Shelly Rueckert <br />Code Enf. Officer Ms. Jessica Jagoe <br />Deputy Clerk Ms. I{achy Glanzer <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />ISSUES <br />PUBLIC WORKS- The Public Works Director recommended to the Council that they <br />WINTER consider the implementation of winter parking restrictions from <br />PARKING November 1" to April '1" between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. as <br />RESTRICTIONS outlined in his report dated January 8, 2004. <br />Fahey pointed out that there have only been two snowfalls since <br />November 1s' and asked what problems the City has been experiencing <br />that would warrant enacting the winter parking restrictions. <br />The City Administrator pointed out That the City has on-street parking <br />restrictions in the event of a 2-inch snowfall. There have been violations <br />of this ordinance as well as inconsistent enforcement on the part of the <br />Sheriff's Department. "I'he Administrator also indicated that there appears <br />to be the need for a re-education process each winter season to make <br />property owners aware that in the event of a 2-inch snowfall, on-street <br />parking is prohibited until the street has been plowed. <br />
