MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 11, 2004
xAPPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS;
*APPKOVAI. OF THE LIGHTING PROJECT AT THE OLD FIRE
HALL. AS RECOMMENDED 13Y THE PARKS & RECREATION
DIRECTOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (4) LaValle, Montour, Fahey, Blesener.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
IMPROVEMENT The City Administrator reported that as part of the Unweave the Weave
OF EDGERTON project, the Edgerton and County Road D intersection will be
STREET & reconstructed and watermain installed along a portion of County Road
COUNTY D west of Edgerton Street. The City Administrata~ indicated that even
ROAD D though these are County roads, the City will have to expend money on this
project. From a consistency standpoint relative to future improvements in
this area, it is the Administrator's recommendation that the City assess for
the cost of the water main and street improvements on County Road D and
the street reconstruction and curb and gutter on Edgerton Street. The City
Administrator reported that a neighborhood meeting would be held with
the impacted property owners prior to the improvement hearing.
Fahey stated that he supported the Administrator's recommendation as it is
consistent with the City's assessment policy.
Blesener noted that typically the County absorbs road reconstruction costs
on their streets- The City Administrator indicated that the City will have
storm sewer and curb and gutter costs as part of this project even though
MN DOT and the County are paying a share of project costs. The
Administrator felt that from a consistency standpoint, the City should
assess the cost of water main, road reconstruction, and curb and gutter.
Blesener indicated that he had no problem with assessing the cost of water
main and curb and gutter, but had to give more consideration to the
assessment of road reconstruction costs on a County road.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI. UTION N0. 2004-5-92 - ACCEPTING T HE FEAb'I/377.ITY
REPORT FOR IMPROVEMENT NO. 2004-13, COUNTY ROAD D
AND EDGERTON STREET, AND CALLING AN IMPROVEMENT
HEARING FOR WEDNESDAY, .TUNE 9, 2004 AT 7:30 P.M.
