MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JUNE 23, 2004 Blesener asked about redundancy and backup for the dispatching function. Smiley reported that none of the centers have back up, but in emergencies, 911 calls can be routed to other dispatch centers. Smiley indicated that his position as the City's Emergency Services Coordinator is that he would like to see atwo-site option for dispatch. Fahey agreed with the necessity of converting to an 800 MIIz system, but had strong reservations on consolidating dispatch functions. Blesener agreed, and noted a key issue is the urban/suburban concept. Blesener pointed out differences in staffing levels between St. Paul and the suburban centers thus the impact that combining would have on service levels. Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption RESOI. UTION NO. 2004-6-737 -DECLARING THAT THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA DOES NOT .SDPPORT THE CONSOLIDATION OF THE CODNTY, ST. PAID., MAPLEWDOD, AND WHITE BEAR LAKE DISPATCH CENTERS FOR THE REASONS AS OUTLINED 1N THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR'SMFMO DATED .TUNE I8, 2004 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson. Ayes (5) Fahey, Anderson, LaValle, Montour, Blesener. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Smiley indicated that there is a kick-off meeting scheduled on July 6°i from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the 800 MHz project at the Roseville Oval. PROVINCES The Council reviewed the recommendation of the City Administrator to AGREEMENT eliminate the escrow requirement under the Provinces Tax Credit Usage Agreement as outlined in his report dated June 18, 2004.
