MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 10, 2008 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of <br />July, 2008 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Jon Hall <br />Mr. Jeff Helmeke <br />Mr. Chuck Pechmann <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Ms. Kate Socha <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES Duray recommended approval of the June 12, 2008 minutes as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Helmeke. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />CONDITIONAL The City Planner reported that David Schwietz, 620 Keller Parkway, has <br />USE PERMIT - made application for a Conditional Use Permit to allow two garages as <br />620 KELLER well as garage space over 1,000 square feet. The Planner noted that the <br />PARKWAY - City Code caps the amount of garage space for a residential property at <br />DAVID a maximum of 1,500 square feet. The applicant is proposing to construct <br />SCHWIETZ one small garage that would be approximately 20 feet by 14 feet. He would <br /> then tear down his existing garage and construct atwo-story, detached <br /> garage with a basement for additional storage. The combination of these <br /> two garages is approximately 1,547 square feet. The Planner reported that <br /> Mr. Schwietz has indicated that his future plan is to tear down his existing <br /> house and construct a new home that would be attached to the larger garage. <br /> He is planning the redevelopment of his property in stages. <br />
