Present: Carl Spooner, Bev Scalze, Bill Sanders, Dan Drake, Elaine Zoch, Jim Dforelan and Lois Runyon. Dtr. $ Mrs. Turnyuist appeared and are in doubt: as to what they want to do with their property. They think they could develop 8 lots but they aren't sure, if the}' can't they would be willing to sell the land to the city for a future nature center. Bev Scalze suggested they visit the city planner when tie is at city hall and get an idea what their land is buildable for. After Dir. 6 Dirs. Turnquist left. It was decided unaimously to present the city council with the following resolution: To direct the city council to negoiate with the 'Ilirnquists to purchase _;- their land for open space purposes. Carl Spooner suggested we look into some color plantings for Spooner -- Park and transplant more of the pine trees. Jim Morelan reported that some of the pine trees have already been transplanted. Lois will check with Joe Chelbeck to see if Maplewood Community Services have ever been paid for the puppet wagon. The puppet wagon was discussed for next year and it was decided that we should find funds to ccntinue _.,~ this event in t}~e park. Elaine Zoch suggested we need to advertise the availability of Spooner Park and that park permits are available also the various activities that can be done in the park. Bev Scalze presented the develppment plann for the land between Payne Ave. and Greenbrier ..kves. After discussing the vaious plans we decided the layout for Plan "C" for park use was the best if two cul-de-sacs were used instead of though streets. But to get a better ---- idea of how much property is involved for park uses Bev will nave Carley Engineering stake out t}~e area and we will visit this area on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. The Meetmng was adjourned. ~ NEXT PARK CODPIISSION ON NOVE9IBER 14 at 1:30 p.m. we will meet at the area between Greenbrier off Cty.
