MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JANUARY 10, 2002
Knudsen recommended that the City Planner draft an ordinance allowing
for bus benches as temporary advertising signs in the public right-of--way
with that ordinance to address the issues that are outlined in the Planner's
report dated January 8, 2002, with the City to determine number and
location of bus benches, with the ordinance prohibiting private benches
along Little Canada Road and providing for a removal clause upon notice
by the City.
Motion seconded by Carson.
Motion carried 5 - I. Roycraft voted against.
Barraclough abstained.
1-G94 The Public Works Director presented the Commission with concept plans
for reconstruction of bridges along I-694 and reported that the Council has
indicated they favor the Concept A design with railing elements from
Concept C. The Director reported that the issue for the Planning
Commission is the type of community identification elements to be
included in the project.
The Commission supported community identification elements wherever
practical. The Commission also indicated that they would prefer to have
wrought iron bridge railings similar to those on fi'eeway bridges in St.
Paul. The Commission further suggested the installation of flagpoles on
the bridges where practical.
ADJOURN lJpon motion by Wojcik, seconded by Carson, the meeting was adjourned
at 10: 25 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
c'?
~~
1<athy Glan er
Recording Secretary
I6
