MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 18, 2002
Buetow reported that they have contacted Ramsey County for a permit to
put an access from their property onto County Road D.
Roycraft pointed out tbat the City Engineer has raised significant concerns
relative to this proposal. The City Planner noted that the Buetow's will
have to submit and grading and drainage plan.
Bob Buetow noted that ownership of the intersection of County Road D
and Edgerton Street is in question at this time given the State's 694
project. However, they will work on resolving the issues that have been
raised by the City Engineer.
The Deputy Clerk noted that the 694 project will likely raise the elevation
of the Edgerton Street bridge, which will impact the Buetow property. It
is also likely that as part of the bridge project, County Road D will be re-
aligned moving the pavement further from the Buetow property. Staff
would recommend that approvals of the Buetow requests be contingent
upon coordination of any issues relative to the 694 project.
Roycraft asked if the residential look of the property would be retained.
Buetow replied that it would.
Duray asked about a landscape plan for the property. Buetow reported
that at this point the landscape plan would be subject to change given the
impact of the 694 project. Buetow also indicated that they may raise the
building up since the road elevations may be increased.
Barraclough recommended approval of a Conditional Use Permit allowing
outdoor storage as well as Architectw al Review for building addition at
3104 Edgerton Street as proposed by Herman and Bob Buetow subject to
compliance with the recommendations of the City Planner and City
Engineer, subject to working with City staff to coordinate this
development with the 694 project.
Motion seconded by Duray.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
PUD PERMIT Mr. Jon Weiss, Common Bond, appeared before the Commission
& requesting approval of a PUD Permit to develop 35 units of affordable
ARCfIITECTURAL housing for senior citizens and Architectural Review for the addition
REVIEW - of these units to the existing Garden Terrace Senior Housing complex.
-~-
