Seibel reported that Allegiance Financial Group remarl<ets heavy
LICENSE equipment and hud<s for banks and leasing companies. "they have two
lots outside of Little Canada where this equipment and trucks are stored.
Seibel reported that Allegiance leases 2,100 square feet of ot7-ice space at
2925 Country Drive, and would like an auto retail sales license. Given
that the license needs to be tied to the address where records are
maintained, and given that the State requires that there be five designated
display spaces at the address listed on Che license, Seibel is requesting the
text amendment and the CUP as outlined. Seibel noted, however, that no
trucks or equipment will ever be displayed at this location.
Knudsen asked why Seibel does not have the license at the address of one
of the two display lots outside of Little Canada. Seibel reported that there
is no office space at these lots, and the State's requirements is that record
storage occur at the address on the license and that address also must have
five display spots.
Knudsen asked why Seibel is requesting the license now after the business
has ah'eady leased the space on Country Drive. Seibel replied that it is a
long process to obtain a retail sales license, and he began that process
months ago.
Knudsen indicated that he was reluctant to recommend approval of
something that seemed to circumvent State Law. 1-le noted that the City
does not really want a fifth auto retail sales license, and that Seibel does
not really want to sell vehicles fi~om the Country Drive location.
