<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br /> <br />DATE: March 4, 2016 <br /> <br />RE: Fee Schedule Update - 2016 Organized Collection Rates <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 2015, the tipping fee used to calculate the disposal rates in the organized <br />collection contract went from $56.81/ton charged in 2014 to $58.22/ton. For 2016, the tipping fee will <br />be reduced to $58 per ton. Below are the updated 2016 Trash and Recycling Rates based on the lower <br />tipping fee. <br /> <br />It should also be noted that the collection fee component did increase from 2016, but that increase was <br />negotiated with the haulers during the contract renewal in 2011. (Note: this is the last year of that <br />agreement.) With the current agreement, the collection fee has preset increases over the five-year <br />contract term.
