The streets included for rehabilitation include: <br /> <br /> Aspen Circle (County Road D to County Road D) <br /> Morrison Street (Demont to the south end) <br /> Demont Avenue (McMenemy Street to Savage Lane) <br /> <br />As directed at the public hearing the project will include the removal and replacement of <br />the concrete curb and gutter in front of each driveway on all these streets and sufficient <br />driveway replacement to allow for an improved driveway access. In addition to the street <br />work minor utility repairs and improvements will be completed on all streets. Also <br />included in the plans are some minor watermain repairs and bituminous work in other <br />areas around the City to capitalize on the more competitive pricing that is received on <br />larger projects. <br /> <br />As the City Council is aware, a concern at the public hearing was the possibility of heavy <br />construction traffic from the upcoming Mn/DOT sound wall work on Demont Avenue and <br />Morrison Street after the improvement was completed. Residents were concerned that <br />construction traffic would damage the street shortly after the street work was completed. <br />We have worked with Mn/DOT on this issue and their contract now allows the wall <br />contractor to utilize Demont Avenue for access until July 31, 2016. After that date they <br />would need written approval from the City for using Demont Avenue which would allow <br />us to control construction traffic use. <br /> <br />At this time we are requesting plan approval and authorization for advertisement for bids <br />from the City Council. <br /> <br />If you have any questions please call me at (763) 780-0450 extension 3.
