MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />February 18, 2016 <br /> <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on <br />the 18th day of February in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br /> <br /> Chair Dave Miller called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the commission were present: <br /> <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Sharen Darling <br /> Mr. Ron Horwath <br /> Mr. Dave Miller <br /> Mr. Tom Ray <br /> Mr. Peter Schletty <br /> Ms. Patti Sullivan <br /> <br />ABSENT: Mr. Tom Maida <br /> <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks and Rec. Director <br /> Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV Producer <br /> <br /> Chair Miller asked the new commission members to introduce themselves and <br />share why they joined the Commission. Schletty explained he moved to Little <br />Canada a year and a half ago, and now has a nine week old daughter. He <br />thought this would be a good way to voice his input as an active park user. Ray <br />told the Commission he has lived in Little Canada since 1999. He has been <br />involved with coaching baseball, cub scouts, and the Little Canada Recreation <br />Association. <br /> Miller then asked if the rest of the Commission could share their backgrounds <br />with the new members. Darling explained she moved to Little Canada two <br />years ago and wanted to be involved in the community. She thought the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission would be a good opportunity. She has been on the <br />Commission for a year. Chair Miller said he has been living in Little Canada for <br />20 years and this is his third year on the Commission. His kids were involved in <br />Parks and Recreation activities and now he wants to give back to the <br />department. Sullivan, a lifelong resident, explained she had been in the Parks <br />and Recreation Program when she was little, and so had her son. She has been <br />on the Commission for eight years as a way to stay involved. Horwath <br />explained he has been on the Commission for one year and lived in Little <br />Canada for six years. He told the Commission he wants to create a positive park <br />program because he believes in community activity. <br />WELCOME
