MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 9, 2016 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 91h day of <br />March, 2016 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator <br />City Cleric <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Ms. Heidi Heller <br />The purpose of this evening's meeting is for the City Council to discuss <br />the draft action plans for the 2016 goals. <br />DISCUSS 2016 The City Administrator stated that he had prepared action plans for the <br />GOALS ACTION eight goals that received the most votes, and in most cases, had votes from <br />PLANS at least three Council members, during the goal setting session. <br />The City Administrator stated the first goal is to investigate the feasibility <br />of a housing rehab loan program. He noted that he has talked to Roseville <br />about their program, and they did some modifications and are now are <br />happy with the program. The City Administrator noted that he will do <br />more research to see if it would work and make sense for Little Canada. <br />The City Administrator stated the next goal is to develop a process to <br />address vacant commercial property maintenance. He noted that the Code <br />Enforcement Inspector will be involved with this goal. He stated that staff <br />will look into what the actual issues are at the vacant sites and determine if <br />the City Code should be changed or strengthened. <br />The City Administrator stated that the next goal is to implement a business <br />retention and expansion program.
