MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP
APRIL 13, 2016
Ms. Raye stated that CTV has started discussions about what will happen
if or when the PEG fees are cut. Montour stated that one option is to cut
the school board channels since they don't pay anything for their channels
or taping of meetings and events. He noted that the school districts also
don't have a revenue stream from cable franchise fees like cities do. The
City Administrator stated that there could be opportunities to merge with
other cable commissions if it makes sense from a business perspective.
DISCUSS The City Administrator noted that on Thursday, April 21, Wellington
ECONOMIC Management is holding a neighborhood meeting about potential users for
DEVELOPMENT the former Bally's building and redevelopment area.
The City Administrator stated that Tacheny Exteriors is located in the
South Owasso and Woodlyn industrial redevelopment area. He explained
that the owners of Tacheny have talked about selling their building to the
City over the last few years, and it had appeared they were agreeable to
this. The City Administrator stated that now the Tacheny's are planning
to expand their building. He stated that the City would like their parcel
and the adjacent lot to the east for redevelopment, and there are City Code
issues on the Tacheny's property such as illegal outdoor storage and
residential use of the property. The City Administrator stated that the City
Attorney has prepared an ordinance to put a 12 month moratorium in place
to halt any development or construction in the specified area to give the
City time to study redevelopment options. The Council was in agreement
for a moratorium.
ADJOURN There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
 J44
d/
Jo v . Keis, Mayor
Attest4so(
n,, City Administrator
3
