MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 27, 2016 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 271h day of <br />April, 2016 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />City Clerk <br />Recycling Coordinator <br />Ramsey County <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Mr. Pat Kelly <br />Ms. Heidi Heller <br />Ms. Jessica Jagoe <br />Ms. Jean Buckley <br />The purpose of this evening's meeting is for the City Council to discuss <br />the City's organized collection issues and options for the future contract. <br />DISCUSS CITY'S The City Administrator stated that Ramsey County is doing a study of a <br />ORGANIZED few cities to see what recycling options are available at multi -family <br />COLLECTION properties in each city. He noted that the options are all across the board <br />ISSUES and vary greatly from property to property. He stated that Ramsey County <br />is pushing cities to increase their recycling amounts and a good way to do <br />that is increasing recycling rates in multi -family properties. He stated that <br />Little Canada has talked about including multi -family properties in with <br />our organized collection program. <br />Jean Buckley, a Health Educator with Ramsey County Environmental <br />Health, stated that the State is aiming for a 75% recycling rate, and in <br />order to do this, it will need to involve more than just recycling cans and <br />bottles.
