MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 11, 2016 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 1 lth day of <br />May, 2016 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator <br />City Clerk <br />Code Enforcement/Planner <br />Cable TV Producer <br />Cable TV Technician <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Ms. Heidi Heller <br />Ms. Jessica Jagoe <br />Ms. Vanessa Van Alstine <br />Mr. Kevin Helander <br />The purpose of this evening's meeting is for the City Council to discuss <br />vacant commercial property maintenance and the integrated <br />communications plan. <br />VACANT The Code Enforcement Officer stated that three commercial properties had <br />COMMERCIAL been identified as being vacant and having code enforcement issues. She <br />PROPERTY stated that the former Sinclair gas station building at 228 Little Canada <br />MAINTENANCE Road, was demolished in April and is now being marketed for <br />redevelopment; the former Bally's at 71 Minnesota Avenue is now <br />controlled by a developer who is actively working on finding a new use <br />for the property. She explained that the City met with Wellington <br />Management this week, and there is only one potential user left from the <br />list of three, but there are zoning and land use issues that would need to be <br />overcome for this user. The Code Enforcement Officer stated that there <br />have been some issues at 71 Minnesota with dumping and graffiti, but the <br />owners have been very responsive and take care of the problems quickly. <br />
