Fire Station
Bill Sanders put together a landscape plan for the fire station to freshen that property up as well. It also
involves a good mix of native plants with relatively low maintenance. The fire station plan involves
daylilies, hostas, junipers, dogwoods, and Karl Forester grasses. Hardwood mulch is specified for
these planting beds as well. The proposed work involves the south, southwest, west, and northwest
sides of the building, including the area around the digital monument sign.
The estimate for the scope of work is $12,000. $15,000 has been budgeted for landscaping in 2016.
The fire department has reviewed and approved the plan.
Staff recommends approving the City Hall and fire station landscaping plans including the additional
bushes along the angled wall at City Hall that are not shown on the plan. Staff will obtain quotes for
the project following Council approval.
