This bituminous trail is <br />approximately 5 feet in width and 1,300 feet long. Based on a field review of it’s <br />condition the proposed improvement method is similar to the method used on the 5 foot <br />trail in Spooner Park that runs along the driveway to the back parking lots. We are <br />proposing to complete an overlay of the entire trail with small areas of full replacement <br />where necessary. We have obtained quotes from the two Contractors that bid the <br />previous trail work in Spooner Park and the bids are summarized below. <br /> <br /> Contractor Quote <br /> TA Schifsky & Sons $13,925.00 <br /> Buck Blacktop $20,800.00 <br /> <br />Both quotes received were below the budgeted amount and T.A. Schifsky & Sons is the <br />low bidder. They have completed numerous trail and street improvement projects for the <br />City in the past and we would consider them a responsive and responsible bidder. <br /> <br />The trail is located adjacent to the school play fields therefore, we informed both <br />Contractors prior to bidding that the work would need to be completed prior to the <br />beginning of school. At this time we are requesting authorization to award the trail work <br />to T.A. Schifsky & Sons as the low bidder so the work can begin in a timely manner to <br />meet this deadline.
