MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />June 2, 2016 <br />Statement to the Council. Sullivan seconded the motion. The motion was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />The Director reported the City Administrator would like to have the <br />Commission become more involved in the budget process. The Director <br />wanted to let them know the process would need to begin before the next <br />Commission meeting. The Commission agreed attending a workshop or <br />meeting with the City Administrator directly would work well. The <br />Director noted it may be important to involve the entire Commission in the <br />process this year, but in the future consider only involving a few of the <br />members. <br />The Recreation Supervisor reported the next Market Place Morning Talk <br />would be on June 8th and the topic would be the Golden Center-Lakeridge <br />Adult Daycare. <br />The Recreation Supervisor discussed the latest activities flyer. She <br />reported archery is almost full, firearm safety is about one third full, and <br />no one has registered for Fishing Fun, although she was hopeful this <br />would change. Ray asked if the Recreation Supervisor had considered <br />partnering with Joe’s Sporting Goods to raise awareness of the program. <br />The Recreation Supervisor mentioned the Farmers’ Market will begin <br />June 20th. <br />The Recreation Supervisor reported there were upcoming Twins and <br />Saints Bus Trip opportunities. The Twins Trip scheduled for June 7th was <br />almost full and the Saints trip on July 12th still had many openings. <br />Horwath reported the pump track application had been denied for Little <br />Canada and was approved for a different date than originally applied for in <br />Minneapolis.
