STAFF REPORT

TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council

FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator

DATE: November 23, 2016

RE: Avison-Young Proposal for Twin Lake Land

At our workshop meeting of November 14th, Avison-Young made a proposal for marketing the
land we own off of Twin Lake Boulevard. Per the Council’s direction, I did contact a local
developer to gauge their interest in the property. As of the writing of this memo, they have
expressed strong interest in the property for a townhome development and I expect a more
definitive response prior to Wednesday’s meeting.

If that option does not bear fruit, then it would seem appropriate to contract with Avison-Young
to market the Twin Lake Boulevard property. If the local developer remains interested, I would
recommend we seek a proposal from Avison-Young to assist us with the redevelopment of the
Owasso/Woodlyn area.
