1
lelfering@elferingeng.com
From:Oyen, Cam (MHFA) <Cameron.Oyen@state.mn.us>
Sent:Monday, November 21, 2016 10:43 AM
To:lelfering@elferingeng.com; Bill Dircks (bill.dircks@ci.little-canada.mn.us)
Cc:crookednosewarrior@centurylink.net
Subject:RE: Rose Place & Lakeshore
Gentlemen:
To expand on my earlier comments, in which I expressed a preference to delay a complete rebuild to Rose and Lake
Shore:
1) More advance warning would allow us to be in a better place to be able to financially absorb the assessment, which is
not a small amount.
2) Since we moved in in 2002, there have been significant issues with noise, mess, traffic, and other inconvenience,
having to do with freeway/highway enhancements, other road repairs, train noise, weather events (hail damage to
roofs) and their consequences, resulting in unusual busy-ness in the neighborhood that has led to a certain fatigue, at
least on our part.

In those 14 years, more than half of them have seen some of the above disruptions. And not all of it has been merely
daytime, but nighttime, as well (train horns, all night work on the MNPass, etc.).

Is there a way that this work could be delayed until the next available year, just to be able to rest up a bit, and prepare
the budget for some additional expense?

Have you heard from anyone else who would just-as soon wait? Have you heard from anyone else in the neighborhood
who did not attend the under-attended meeting? Will there be more info going out to neighborhood citizens before the
next meeting, such that folks who might not yet understand what is under consideration, have an opportunity to
consider the implications?

Questions? Let me know.

Cam & Christie Oyen | 2598 Lake Shore Ave | Little Canada, MN 55117 Home 651.765.0352 | Cell 651.270.9283 | Work
651.296.8102 | cameron.oyen@state.mn.us

-----Original Message-----
From: lelfering@elferingeng.com [mailto:lelfering@elferingeng.com]
Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2016 9:39 AM
To: Oyen, Cam (MHFA)
Subject: Rose Place & Lakeshore

Cameron,
Please find attached an electronic copy of the presentation. I was not sure if you had PowerPoint software so I created a
pdf of the sheets.

Lee Elfering
Elfering & Associates
10062 Flanders Court NE
Blaine, MN 55449
