Removing Chicken Ban
Dear Council Members and Mayor,
I am in favor of removing the ban on chickens in Little Canada. I was excited to buy my first home and move to Little Canada, where I had
hoped to have chickens. I was very saddened to learn that they are not allowed here, not to mention every other surrounding city either allows
them, or is in the process of allowing them.
I know at the last council meeting regarding chickens it was stated that the ban wound't be lifted because not enough people want them; isn't
that a good thing if hundreds/thousands of people don't instantly want chickens? Why wouldn't it be good to start small, with the people that
really want them and then it can slowly spread.
I am open to classes, rooster bans and getting a permit. I just ask that you please reconsider your position. Times have changed, information
about urban farming is readily available and it seems as though it's going incredibly well in other communities.
Thank you,
Andrea Main
Little Canada resident
Andrea Main <andreajomain@gmail.com>
Mon 1/23/2017 9:22 AM
To:John Keis <john.keis@ci.little‐canada.mn.us>; Tom Fischer <tom.fischer@ci.little‐canada.mn.us>; Christian Torkelson
<christian.torkelson@ci.little‐canada.mn.us>; Michael McGraw <michael.mcgraw@ci.little‐canada.mn.us>; Rick Montour
<montourrick@comcast.net>;
