MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 16, 2017 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 16th day of <br />March, 2017 in the Conference Room of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City after proper public notice. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Parks & Rec. Chair <br />City Administrator <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Michael McGraw <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />Mr. Dave Miller <br />Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />PARKS & <br />The City Council conducted second interviews with Bryce Shearen (6:30 <br />RECREATION/COM <br />p.m.) and Ron Horwath (7:15 p.m.) for the position of Parks & <br />MUNITY SERVICES <br />Recreation/Community Services Manager. They were the selected for <br />MANAGER -2 ND <br />further consideration after interviewing a pool of six finalists. It also <br />INTERVIEWS <br />provided an opportunity for Council Members Montour and McGraw to <br />meet with both candidates given they could not attend the interviews from <br />last week. The interviews consisted of a presentation on Social Media, a <br />written exercise on upgrades to the Spooner Park playground, and then <br />some general questions. <br />At the conclusion of the interviews, the Council had a lengthy deliberation <br />on the merits of each candidate and the long term needs for Parks & <br />Recreation and the city as a whole. After this discussion, the consensus of <br />those present by a four to two poll, was to offer the position to Bryce <br />Shearen. An employment contract will be presented at the Council <br />meeting of March 22"a <br />ADJOURN There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:41 p.m. <br />^. ohn, .
