<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />DATE: April 21, 2017 <br /> <br />RE: Action Plan Review/Adoption <br /> <br /> <br />Draft action plans have been prepared for the adopted 2017 goals. Those goals were as follows: <br /> <br />1. Community Engagement: <br />a. Increase voter turnout <br />b. Community input on the Comp Plan Update <br />c. Re-establish Community Pride Committee <br />d. Outreach to diverse populations <br />e. Youth engagement – connecting volunteers & youth to more activities, more youth <br />activities <br />f. Intergenerational connections <br />g. Website link for local resources to help seniors in the community <br />h. Promote the Little Canada Business Registry List <br />i. Ensure public input on county road improvement projects <br />2. Parks Master Plan: <br />a. Rehab Spooner Park playground <br />b. Increase Wi-Fi in city parks <br />c. Build a dog park <br />d. Evaluate the current use of park equipment and playgrounds <br />3. Work with Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department on how they are hiring deputies, <br />training deputies, and planning for a response action plan if an race involved police event <br />occurs in a contract jurisdiction as well as any current actions/plans for improving race <br />relations <br />4. Comp Plan Update: <br />a. Zoning of Mobile Home Parks <br />b. Discussion on residential property development <br />c. Plan to develop city-owned properties <br />5. Increase efforts on crime prevention in focused areas with higher crime rates <br /> <br />It should be noted that the City Planner was involved in this process. I have also forwarded the two <br />involving the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department to the patrol division for their review and <br />comment. <br /> <br />We will discuss these drafts at Wednesday’s workshop. Subject to any modifications you make, we <br />can then adopt them at the Regular Council meeting that night if you are comfortable with that process. <br />
