Park System Plan Chapter 1 <br />City of Little Canada, Minnesota Introduction <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Preliminary Draft: January 26, 2009 1-3 <br />2. Neighboring and overlapping jurisdictions can refer to this Plan <br />to help determine how their park systems relate to Little <br />Canada’s park system. <br />3. Developers and landowners can use this Plan to develop an <br />understanding of how existing and future development should <br />relate to the City’s park system. <br />4. Residents can refer to this Plan to learn about parks, open <br />space, and trails in Little Canada. <br />PLANNING PROCESS <br />This Park System Plan updates the Little Canada Park and Recreation <br />Master Plan that was adopted by the City in 1991. The City gratefully <br />acknowledges the work of all who participated in past and present park <br />system planning efforts in Little Canada. <br />The Park and Recreation Commission met with the City’s park planning <br />consultant on a regular basis to develop this Plan. The Park and <br />Recreation Commission provided broad based representation of the <br />community. The City publicly noticed all meetings of the Park and <br />Recreation Commission and the public and media were welcome to <br />attend the meetings. <br />On _______, the Park and Recreation Commission recommended that <br />the City Council approve a resolution directing the City to distribute <br />copies of the Plan to all applicable neighboring and overlapping <br />jurisdictions for their review and comments. After the Park and <br />Recreation Commission reviewed the submitted comments, the <br />Planning Commission held a public hearing on _____ and recommended <br />that the City Council approve the Plan.
