Park System Plan Chapter 3
City of Little Canada, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Plan

Preliminary Draft: February 27, 2009 3‐9
GERVAIS LAKE BEACH
LOCATION:
Edgerton and County Road B2‐E
SIZE:
4 Acres
CLASSIFIED:
Beach (County Park)
OVERVIEW
Gervais Lake Beach is a Ramsey County facility, owned and operated by
the Ramsey County Parks Department. The beach and related facilities
serve a regional population and Little Canada residents.
EXISTING PARK FACILITIES
Beach
Fishing Pier
Onsite Parking
Picnic Tables
Play Area
Restroom
Shelter
Trails
TRAILS AND TRAIL CONNECTIONS
The park is accessed by the bicycle lanes along Edgerton Street. Some
limited trail improvements connect facilities on the site.
NATURAL RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
The park has an oak covered knoll, lakefront on Gervais Lake, and
wetland/storm water treatment areas.
VISUAL RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
The lakefront treatment and the oak covered knoll are the dominant
visual assets of the park, providing superb views of Gervais Lake.
ISSUES AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Ramsey County has completed major improvements to the entire site,
including drives, parking, building walks, picnic areas, fishing pier, and
landscaping. Little Canada should continue to work with Ramsey
County to support this important facility.
The City recommends that the County look at the feasibility of providing
winter vehicle access at this site as there was prior to the most recent
reconstruction of the beach.

Beach House – Gervais Lake Beach
(Source: SWB, Inc.)

Fishing Pier – Gervais Lake Beach
(Source: SWB, Inc.)

Location Map – Gervais Lake Beach
(Source: SWB, Inc./Ramsey County GIS)
