MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP <br />MAY 24, 2017 <br />The City Planner stated that commercial area development and redevelopment in <br />the next topic. He stated that the condition of commercial properties was <br />discussed, along with reexamining parking standards and making better use of <br />land. <br />The City Planner stated that the next topic is gateway or corridor aesthetics. The <br />City Administrator stated that there are guidelines for development in some <br />areas and maybe those should be ordinances instead of just guidelines, and <br />possibly expand on them. Keis stated that maybe the guidelines should be over <br />a larger corridor area. <br />The City Planner stated that public facilities issues and opportunities is the next <br />topic. He noted that this topic came from staff discussion. The City <br />Administrator stated that many of these things will be part of the new parks <br />master plan. <br />The City Planner stated that he also included the goals and policies for land uses <br />from the existing Comprehensive Plan. He noted that when this section is <br />rewritten, most of it will likely be reused, so Staff and the Council should review <br />if any should be modified or removed. <br />There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 7:12 p.m. <br />"John T ie s, Mayor <br />Attes5nsoJoel� <br />n, City Administrator <br />3 <br />
