Inventory (Draft July 7) Page 11
Pollution

Neither air nor noise pollution has been identified as being immediate problems in Little Canada.
However, the planning program should provide means for preventing noise and air pollution
from ever becoming a problem.
8 sites along and with Little Canada have voluntarily enrolled in the MPCA’s Voluntary
Investigation and Cleanup (VIC) Program. Many VIC sites have been cleaned as part of a
redevelopment project. The VIC program allows buyers, sellers, developers or local governments
to voluntarily investigate and, if necessary, clean up contaminated land to facilitate its sale,
financing or redevelopment. The table below lists the active sites in Little Canada. "Active" sites
have an ongoing activity in which the MPCA has an interest (for example, an ongoing investigation
at a potentially contaminated site or a permit that is in effect).

Active Voluntary Investigation and Cleanup (VIC) Sites
Address Type
Little Canada Public Works & Park Facility
2870 Centerville Rd
Brownfields,
Petroleum Remediation
Highway 36 and Rice Street Park & Ride
95 County Rd B W Brownfields
Suite Living Little Canada
NW Corner of CP Rail and County Road B Brownfields
Former Oasis Market 542
2250 Rice St Petroleum Remediation
Little Canada BP
300 Little Canada Rd E Petroleum Remediation
R & S Automotive
38 Woodlyn Ave Petroleum Remediation
Sinclair Station #22031/Clark
228 Little Canada Rd E Petroleum Remediation
Safety-Kleen Systems Inc – Little Canada
180 Ryan Dr RCRA Remediation
Source: MPCA
