<br />Inventory (Draft July 7) Page 13 <br />EXISTING LAND USE AND ZONING PROFILE <br /> <br />Land Use <br /> <br />The City of Little Canada is located northeast of St. Paul, in the north central portion of Ramsey <br />County. Little Canada shares its borders with Vadnais Heights to the north, Maplewood to the east <br />and south, and Roseville and Shoreview to the west. The City covers approximately 4.4 square <br />miles of land consisting of a mix of residential, light industrial, right-of-way, lakes/water, open <br />space, and parkland. Most land use is classified as single-family residential and retail or other <br />commercial. Approximately 210 acres of the City are Planned Unit Developments (PUDs), though <br />their underlying land uses are reflected in the following table. <br />The majority of Little Canada is dedicated to residential land uses. Single family uses account for <br />one third of the total land, while high density residential accounts for 4% of the total land. <br />Residential land uses account for approximately 40% of the land in Little Canada. <br />13% of the land in Little Canada is dedicated to public and institutional land uses, including parks, <br />schools, churches, and City buildings.
