MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 28, 2017 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council <br />of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 28th day of June, 2017 in the <br />Conference Room of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the following <br />members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />Council Member Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />Council Member Mr. Mike McGraw <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />City Planner <br />Mr. Steve Grittman <br />Assoc. Planner/Code En£ <br />Ms. Jessica Jagoe <br />Parks/Comm. Services Mgr. <br />Mr. Bryce Shearen <br />Planning Commissioner <br />Mr. Al Davison <br />City Clerk <br />Ms. Heidi Heller <br />Mayor Keis stated that the purpose of this evening's workshop is to discuss the <br />community engagement City Council goals and activities planned for the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan Update and Parks Master Plan. <br />DISCUSSION The City Planner explained that he met with City Staff and is working on <br />ABOUT <br />planning activities to get feedback from the public for the Comprehensive Plan <br />COMMUNITY <br />and the new Parks Master Plan. He stated that there will be booth at Canadian <br />ENGAGEMENT <br />Days done in conjunction with Bob Kost and the Parks Commission who are <br />GOALS AND <br />working on their Parks Master Plan. <br />COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN AND PARKS <br />The City Planner stated that he drafted some example questions for a survey and <br />MASTER PLAN <br />also provided the survey questions from other cities to see other ideas. The <br />ACTIVITIES <br />Associate Planner suggested that on question 5 it might be better to let people <br />rank the whole list of redevelopment areas rather than only being able to choose <br />two. The City Administrator suggested adding transit to the question 4 answers. <br />Fischer asked if question 3 was too complicated. Torkelson suggested using <br />words that more people would understand rather than urban development lingo. <br />
