STAFF REPORT

TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council

FROM: Bill Dircks, Public Works Director

DATE: September 21, 2017

RE: No Overnight Parking on Stoneridge Court

Most of the streets off of County Road D have requested no overnight parking year round on their
streets due to problems caused by cars from the apartment complex across County Road D parking on
the streets for long periods of time. To date, staff has not heard of any continuing problems on any of
these streets since they have been posted as no overnight parking.
A few residents from Stoneridge Court have requested a similar no overnight parking restriction for
their street for the same reasons the other streets made the requests.
A survey was sent to the ten affected properties. There were eight responses. Six were in favor of no
overnight parking and two were not in favor.
Staff recommends installing, No Parking 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., signs on Stoneridge Court.
Residents of the street are always welcome to obtain a parking permit for special occasions. If
approved, a notice of the change will be sent to all affected residents prior to the signs being installed.
