Based on the recent inspection, city staff felt it necessary to update the City Council on the status of the
property given your direction last November. The site is not in compliance with the terms of the
grandfathering appeal. With that, city staff is looking for direction on whether or not enforcement
action should be taken (i.e. citations or revocation of the outdoor storage license).
Mr. Erdmanis will be present at the Council meeting to further discuss why these violations are still
outstanding. He is requesting the Council grant him additional time to gain compliance based on the
unforeseen legislature action that needed his immediate attention. It should be noted that city staff did
ask Mr. Erdmanis how much additional time he felt was needed and he said he could not put a
timeframe on it because it’s all contingent on forces beyond his control (i.e. whether the tree contractor
vacates willingly, finds buyers for the items, the market is such for scrapping some of the items, etc.).

CC: Uldis Erdmanis, Buck Blacktop
