MINU"'CLS Oh THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY <:OUNCil, <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council of <br />Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 9th day of July, 2002 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />J U Ll' 9, 2002 <br />Mayor Michael 1. Hanson <br />Mr_ Jim More(an <br />Mr, Greg Schroeder <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />2002 GOALS/ The City Administrator noted that the purpose of tonight's workshop meeting <br />ACTION is to review proposed action plans for the 2002 Goals that were developed <br />PLANS earlier this year. The Administrator presented proposed action plans for Council <br />review and input. Discussion was as follows: <br />Expand Little Canada Road corridor redevelopment plan. <br />Council reviewed the proposed action plan and consensus was to acquire additional <br />properties for redevelopment as they become available. Council directed the City <br />Administrator to contact the owner of 1 I6 Little Canada Road to determine if they <br />are willing to sell their property. In discussing the existing shopping centers on the <br />north side of Little Canada Road, Council felt these properties are prime candidates <br />for the City's proposed Revoh~ing Loan Program to facilitate the upgrade of the <br />facades of these buildin~.s \~~ith regard to the [.,enfer property, Council's consensus <br />was a more aggressive code enforcement approach with regard to the use of trailers <br />for storage. This code enforcement action should be carried through to all properties <br />within the City that are utilizing [rafters for storage. <br />Council also discussed the possible designation of the area as a TIF District as a <br />financing tool to help achieve the City's redevelopment goals in this area. The City <br />Administrator was directed to put together a report on this option. The City <br />
