STAFF REPORT

TO: Planning Commission Members

FROM: Jessica Jagoe, Associate Planner

DATE: February 9, 2018

RE: Meeting Start Time
The City Council and Planning Commission both have a regular meeting start time of 7:30 p.m. In
2013, the Parks and Recreation Commission made the decision to have an early start time of 6:30 p.m.
The 7:30 p.m. start time is necessary for the City Council due to Workshops that they may need to hold
prior to their regular meetings. However, city staff wanted to bring up the discussion with the
Planning Commission to see if there is interest in an earlier meeting start time. There is nothing in our
ordinance that establishes a specific start time. If there is interest, city staff would present the new
preferred start time to the City Council at their February 28th meeting. If the Council is in agreement,
we would begin with a new meeting time in March.
