STAFF REPORT

TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council

FROM: Bryce Shearen, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Manager

DATE: March 8, 2018

RE: Veterans Memorial Park Donations Policy

Now that the Veterans Memorial Park is officially a city park, staff has drafted a policy on what
to do with the remaining fund balance and future dollars that may come in via paver or bench
donations. Sponsor pavers, Veterans pavers, and two benches are still available for anyone that
may be interested. The policy is a guideline for staff to follow and provide donation information
to the public.

The Parks & Recreation Commission provided input and reviewed the policy at their meeting on
Thursday, March 1, 2018. The Commission recommends that the City Council adopt the policy.
