MINUTES <br />CITY COONCIL <br />JULY 24, 2002 <br />reconstructed. F[e noted that the City has been typically reconstructing <br />streets to seven-ton standards. Nine-ton standards are used for industrial <br />streets. <br />A resident of the area indicated that Jackson Street has not been posted <br />during the spring thaw season for the past three years. The Public Works <br />Directa~ indicated that the street would be posted beginning with the 2003 <br />spring thaw season. whey noted that semis will not be allowed to utilize <br />this road dwing times i[ is posted. <br />F3ob DeE3ace agreed with the residential property owners present that the <br />semi truck trafilic on.Jackson Street is causing a mess for the <br />neighborhood. <br />Anderson asked if the si(e plan could be reconfigures so drat there are two <br />access points onto County Road C'. Anderson noted the steep grade of the <br />property on the west would make a second access point on County Road C <br />very expensive. <br />nnderson asked how Jackson Sh~set came to be designated as three-ton. <br />He noted that there are very sandy soil conditions in this area and felt that <br />the street could suppc'>r(a hi~,her ~n~cight limit. <br />1'he City Administrator suggested that staff'review the matter and come <br />back with a recommendation for Council's consideration. Scalze <br />suggested that Poolside wort: with the City Planner and staff to determine <br />if there are alternatives that can be worked out. <br />Montour pointed our that Poolside is a good business in Little Canada and <br />one that wants to eliminate its ou(door storage and add onto its existing <br />building. <br />I~here was no one present ~n~ith additional comments on this matter. <br />Upon motion by La Valle, seconded by Fahey, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the Following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RE.SO7.
