Little Canada Road Historical AADT

Source: MnDOT Traffic Forecasting & Analysis
4.2 Trip Generation
To account for traffic impacts associated with the proposed development, trip generation estimates
were developed for the weekday a.m. and p.m. peak hours as well as on a daily basis. The trip
generation estimates were development based on rates for similar land uses as documented in the
ITE Trip Generation Manual1. The ITE Trip Generation Manual provides peak hour and daily
trip generation rates based on studies of various land uses. Estimated site generated traffic for the
proposed Caribou Coffee development is detailed in Table 4.
Table 4 – Trip Generation Estimates

1 Trip Generation Manual, Institute of Transportation Engineers, 10th Edition.
Trips
In
Trips
Out
Total
Trips
Trips
In
Trips
Out
Total
Trips
Gross Floor Area (SF) 1,810 82 79 161 39 40 79 1,486
-64 -64 -128 -32 -32 -64 -1,188
18 15 33 7 8 15 298
Source: Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Trip Generation Manual, 10th Edition.
Daily
Trips
Coffee Shop with
Drive-Through Window
(937)
Pass-By/Diverted Link Trips (80%)
Net New Trips
Land Use
(ITE Code)Units Size
AM Peak Hour Trips PM Peak Hour Trips
