CITY OF LITTLE CANADA - PARK SYSTEM MASTER PLAN67 <br />Firefighters Historical Trail <br />ADDRESS <br />325 Little Canada Road East <br />PARK SIZE <br />8 acres <br />PARK CLASSIFICATION <br />Linear Park <br />OVERVIEW <br />Firefighters Historical Trail utilizes a segment of the Water <br />Works Right-of Way, providing a scenic connection from <br />Centerville Road to Spooner Park and Little Canada Road at <br />McMenemy Street. <br />FACILITIES/EQUIPMENT <br />• Paved trail <br />• Benches <br />• Interpretive panels <br />TRAIL CONNECTIONS <br />Sidewalks on Centerville Road and Little Canada Road, <br />Spooner Trail to Gervais Mill <br />NATURAL RESOURCES <br />The trail is flanked by grasslands/forest openings that <br />provide great opportunities for wildlife viewing and native <br />habitat. It is bordered on the north by Gervais Creek, and is <br />wooded on both sides. <br />ISSUES/OPPORTUNITIES <br />1. Make connection to Water Works ROW on the west side <br />of Interstate 35E to create a continuous off-road trail with <br />trailheads. <br />2. Restore grasslands to high-quality meadow. <br />3. Create access point to Gervais Creek with stairs. <br />4.
