MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 11, 2018 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council <br />of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the I lth day of July, 2018 in the <br />Conference Room of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the following <br />members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />(arrived at 6:20p.m.) <br />ALSO PRESENT: Public Works Director <br />Mr. Bill Dircks <br />Assoc. Planner/Code Enf. <br />Ms. Jessica Jagoe <br />City Clerk <br />Ms. Heidi Heller <br />Parks & Rec/Comm. Serv. <br />Mr. Bryce Shearen <br />Morris Leatherman Co. <br />Mr. Peter Leatherman <br />REVIEW DRAFT Mayor Keis stated that the purpose of this evening's workshop is to review the <br />COMMUNITY draft list of questions for a community survey. <br />SURVEY <br />QUESTIONS The City Clerk explained that Peter Leatherman with Morris Leatherman <br />Company has submitted a draft of a community survey based on the last survey <br />that Little Canada did and the discussion at the April 11, 2018 Workshop. Mr. <br />Leatherman suggested going through each question as a group. <br />Mr. Leatherman reviewed the questions and decisions were made whether to <br />keep, delete, or reword questions. Discussion ensued about the redevelopment <br />and property tax questions. Fischer stated that he feels the City should find out <br />what the perception of the residents is for level of property taxes. Mr. <br />Leatherman stated that other cities have discovered that their residents feel the <br />property taxes are high, even though they were lower than neighboring cities, so <br />the City put effort into educating their residents. <br />The City Clerk stated that there were a couple of questions in the staff report <br />that were used by CTV North Suburbs Communications Commission for their <br />
