TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council FROM: Jessica Jagoe, Associate Planner DATE: July 11, 2018 RE: Promotional Items The City purchased promotional items last year to be used during Night to Unite and Canadian Days as part of our community engagement efforts. Those items were a hit and we’ve run low on our inventory (est. 150 frisbees and 200 flashlights). All of our can coolers are gone. Staff and Commission Members handed out about 750 can coolers during the parade and ran out before the halfway point on the parade route. Having this involvement in the parade seemed to be a hit. We’ve received many nice compliments about seeing the City vehicles and staff participating in the parade. There is interest from staff to participate in the parade again this year so registering the City is underway. I’m working with St. Croix Screenprinting on Viking Drive to purchase our promotional items. I’d estimate we’d need roughly 2,000-3,000 pieces to distribute in the parade and maybe another 500 for Night to Unite. We will mix in our remaining inventory as well.
