MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 11, 2002
session and will be the topic of an upcoming workshop. The Parks & Recreation
Director will have a report ready for the Council's review.
The Council reviewed the legal portion of the budget, and the consensus was to
review it more thoroughly when the City Attorney is present.
The Administrator noted that the Capital Improvement Budget will continue to be
revised as part of the budget process this fall.
Montour reported that AT & T has been withholding the City's share of subscriber
fees on modem connections, even though the franchise document requires this
payment be made. Montour noted that the FCC has ruled that modem connections
are information access and not cable TV access. This ruling is currently being
appealed in court.
Fahey noted the positive fund balance in the Cable TV portion of the budget, and the
Administrator noted that the Cable TV Producer is looking at a number of
improvements such as new cameras, lighting, etc. which will be brought to the
Council at a later date. Fahey indicated that he would like to see two remote
microphones purchased as well.
The City Administrator commended the Accounting Supervisor for her work on the
proposed budget.
There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
~l
Mich el I. Fahey, Mayor
Attest .~, /~
Joe .Hanson, City Administrator
