<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> <br />FROM: Bryce Shearen, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Manager <br /> <br />DATE: March 29, 2019 <br /> <br />RE: Photo Contest <br /> <br />To encourage community pride and engagement from the community, the city will be running a <br />photo contest. The contest will be for photographers of all abilities to highlight Little Canada in <br />four different categories. One of the categories will be Parks & Recreation. The finalist from <br />each category will win a prize and the overall prize winner will have their photo highlighted in <br />city publications. <br /> <br />Staff would like to know if the Commission would like to be involved in the voting process for <br />the photos submitted in the Parks & Recreation category. The Commission would identify the <br />top finalist in the Park’s & Recreation category which would then go on to a People’s Choice <br />vote. If the Commission is interested, we could add that to a future agenda. Staff is anticipating <br />the judging will be in September (allowing the photographers the summer to capture Little <br />Canada). <br /> <br />
