<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> <br />FROM: Bryce Shearen, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Manager <br /> <br />DATE: March 29, 2019 <br /> <br />RE: The Great Play Giveaway <br /> <br />The 2019 Great Play Giveaway is running a contest for the chance to win a Burke playground <br />that is worth over $28,000. This competitive contest is only open to park & recreation <br />departments in the United States. The grand prize is a playground set designed for children ages <br />5-12 (see attached flyer). <br /> <br />If the city were to enter, having a location identified would be ideal. Possible locations that staff <br />has identified are the east side of Pioneer Park or in the area of the lower shelter at Spooner Park. <br />Staff would also like to explore any other locations that the Commission may think that the <br />playground would be beneficial. <br /> <br />Staff is looking for comment, input, and possible locations from the Commission on if they think <br />that the city should enter for the chance to win the playground equipment. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />• The Great Play Giveaway flyer
