MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />NOVEMBER 8, 2018 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 8th day of <br />November, 2018 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Bill Buesing called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING Mr. Bill Buesing <br />COMMISSION: Mr. Chris Kwapick <br />Mr. Eric Thorson <br />Mr. Nick Schwalbach <br />Ms. Taelor Johnson <br />ABSENT: Ms. Dawn Kulousek <br />Ms. Nicole George <br />ALSO PRESENT: Ms. Jessica Jagoe, Assoc. Planner/Code Enf. <br />Mr. Chris Heineman, City Administrator <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV <br />MINUTES The October 11, 2018 Planning Commission meeting minutes were <br />approved as submitted. <br />CREATION OF TAX The City Administrator explained that prior to the City Council taking <br />INCREMENT action on creating a TIF district, Minnesota Statutes require that the <br />FINANCING Planning Commission review all tax increment financing (TIF) plans and <br />DISTRICT 7-2 programs and determine if they conform with the general plans for <br />development and redevelopment for the City as described in its <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />The City Administrator stated that the City is considering the creation of an <br />Economic Development Tax Increment Finance District on the parcel at <br />3060 Centerville Road. He stated that the City Council has been discussing <br />a request for business assistance for a proposed economic development <br />project in Little Canada that consists of the acquisition of the 207,000 <br />square foot Slumberland distribution facility.
