(6)

AWARDS AND ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Little Canada for its
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2017. This was the
third year that the City applied for and received this prestigious award. In order to be awarded a
Certificate of Achievement, the government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This report must satisfy both accounting principles generally
accepted in the United States of America and applicable legal requirements.

A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. We believe that our current
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report continues to meet the Certificate of Achievement Program’s
requirement and we are submitting it to the GFOA to determine its eligibility for another certificate.

The preparation of this report would not have been possible without the dedicated services of the
Finance Department staff. I would like to express my appreciation to all of those who assisted and
contributed to the preparation of this report. Recognition is also extended to the City Council for their
unfailing support for maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in the management of City of
Little Canada’s financial operations.

Respectfully submitted,

Christopher Heineman
City Administrator
