MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 27, 2001 <br />second check was in the amount of $25,000.00 representing profits from their <br />bingo operation at the Little Canada Bingo Hall. <br />Mayor Pahey thanked the Little Canada I3istorical Society for their efforts to <br />repay the loan for the building addition. I-Ie also thanked t}~em for their efforts <br />in preserving the culture and history of the City. <br />RUSH LINE Scalze reported that the Rush Line Corridor Task Force is holding an open <br />CORRIDOR house on July 10°i from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Maplewood Community <br />OPEN }LOUSE Center for anyone interested in finding out more or commenting on the <br />proposed Rush Line Commuter Rail which will run from Hinckley through <br />Little Canada and into St. Paul. Scalze noted that the Task Force is doing <br />some long range planning and is considering the options of both commuter rail <br />and high-speed bus service. Scalze urged anyone interested in this issue to <br />attend the open house. <br />CUP Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the application for Conditional <br />AMENDMENT - Use Permit Amendment to expand a commercial use by the construction of <br />375 EAST a storage building at 375 Little Canada Road as requested by Global <br />LITTLE CANADA Volunteers. Fahey noted that the Planning Commission's recommendation to <br />ROAD - approve the CUP amendment allowing a garage door on the north side of the <br />GLOIIAL structure as well as prohibiting vehicular storage in the building. <br />VOLUNTEERS <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on this <br />matter. <br />Upon motion by Scalze, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was closed. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI_(IT70NN0.20(11-6-124-APPROVINGTIIECONDITIONAI DSE <br />AMENDMENT ALI OWING T HE EXPANSION OF A COMMERCIAL. <br />USE BY THE CONSTRUCTION UFA STORAGE 13IJI7_DING A1375 <br />LITTLE CANADA ROAD A.S REQUES'TED 13Y GLOBAL VOLUNTEERS' <br />.SUI3.lE'CT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS' OF <br />THE CITY PLANNER AS OUTLINED 1N HIS REPORT DATED .TUNE <br />72, 2001 EXCEPT "THAT A GARAGE DOOR WILL. ]3E AL.I OWED ON <br />THE NORTH SH)E OF THE STRDCTDRE AND THAT VEHICULAR <br />b'TORAGE IN THLS' BUILDING IN PROHIBITED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Anderson, LaValle, Fahey, Montour. <br />Nays (0).
