MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the City Council of <br />Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 22nd day of August, 2001 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 5I5 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />AUGUST 22, 2001 <br />Mayor Michael I. L.ee Elfering <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />ASSESSMENT Mayor Fahey opened the hearing to consider the assessment of Improvement <br />BEARING- No. 96-01, Little Canada Road from Rice Street on the west to County Road <br />IMP. NO. 9G-01 Con the east by road reconstruction, concrete curb and gutter, storm drainage <br />LTl'TLE CANAllA and ponding, streetscape amenities, burying of overhead power lines, upgrade <br />ROAD of railroad crossings, sanitary sewer rehabilitation, and right-of-way <br />IMPROVEMENT acquisition. <br />The City Engineer described the project in detail He noted that the project <br />was initiated by the County, however, the City took over the project as it <br />progressed. "Fhe County's original feasibility estimate was $2,450,000 and <br />actual costs are estimated at $2,657,000 The Engineer reporCed that the <br />maximwn assessable amount of project costs are $883,078.00. However, <br />given the City caps the maximum commercial assessment rate at $85.00 per <br />front foot, actual assessable costs are $528,638.40. <br />The City Administrator repa-ted that the County will be paying approximately <br />$1.3 million of project costs and $550,000 will come from the City's State Aid <br />Funds. The City's Infrastructure Fund will pay the remaining balance of <br />project costs after assessments. <br />
